Community guidelines

This is a place to organize board game collections and talk about games. These are the rules we moderate by, so you can hold us to them.

What we expect

  • Talk about games, not about the people who like them.
  • Disagree freely. A review saying a game is bad is a review, not an attack.
  • Say where catalog data comes from when you contribute it. "It is on the box" is a perfectly good source.
  • Upload photos of your own copies, taken by you.

What is not allowed

  • Insults, harassment, hate speech or threats.
  • Advertising, affiliate links dropped into comments, or repeated promotion of your own thing.
  • Other people's photos, scans of rulebooks, or copyrighted text pasted in as your own.
  • Personal data about other people, including photos where someone is identifiable and has not agreed.
  • Deliberately wrong catalog data, or duplicating entries to inflate anything.
  • Spoiling the surprises of a campaign or legacy game without warning first.

How moderation works

Anyone logged in can report a review, a comment or a photo. Reports go into a queue that a person reads, and every decision is recorded with who took it and when.

When 3 different people report the same thing, it is hidden automatically while it waits for a human decision. It is not deleted, and the author keeps seeing it.

We prefer hiding to deleting, because hiding is reversible and a mistaken decision should be cheap to undo. Content of yours that gets hidden stays visible to you, and you are notified - you should never have to guess whether something you wrote is still there.

Consequences

In order: the content is hidden, the content is deleted, the account is suspended. A suspended account cannot log in or contribute, and is told so. Repeated deliberate abuse, and anything illegal, skips the earlier steps.

If you disagree with a decision

Write to us from the support page, quoting what was removed. A different look at it is not a favour, it is part of the process.

Rights holders

If something published here uses your work, your brand or your image without permission, use the content removal request form. You do not need an account, and you will get an answer.
